The process

How it works

We talk

A free, no-jargon chat about your business and what the website needs to do — usually 30 minutes. You get a fixed quote in writing, not an estimate that grows.

I build

You see a working draft within the first week and we shape it together. Real pages at a real link — no surprises at the big reveal.

You launch

Your site goes live on your domain with hosting, SSL and Google set up properly. You get a plain-English handover sheet and 30 days of free tweaks.

Beacon47 is one person — me, Mick. You talk to the person who designs and builds your site, not an account manager. That's why it's faster and cheaper than an agency, without being a gamble.

Pricing

Straightforward pricing

One-page sites from £395. Most small-business sites land between £700 and £1,400, depending on pages and features.

Every project is quoted fixed before any work starts — the number on the quote is the number on the invoice. Hosting and care plans from £25/month, cancel any time.

Founding-client rates. Beacon47 is new, and these prices reflect that. In return I'll ask to feature your site in my portfolio and, if you're happy, a short testimonial. Rates will rise as the portfolio grows — the price you sign at is the price you pay.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does a website cost?
A simple one-page site starts at £395. A typical small-business site — home, services, about, contact — usually lands between £700 and £1,400. These are founding-client rates while I build my portfolio, so they're noticeably under what most freelancers charge. You get a fixed quote up front, and that's the price unless you change the scope.
How long does it take?
Most sites launch in two to four weeks. You'll see a working draft at a real link within the first week, and the biggest factor after that is usually how quickly content (text, photos) comes together — I help with both.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes — that's a core part of how I build. Day-to-day things like prices, opening hours and offers live in a simple spreadsheet you already know how to use. Edit, hit publish, and the site updates. Bigger changes are covered by the care plan or quoted individually.
Will it work on phones?
It's built for phones first, because that's where most of your customers are. Every site is tested on real devices and built to load in under a second on a mobile connection.
What about hosting and my domain?
I set up fast, secure hosting (SSL included) and connect your domain — which stays in your name, always. Hosting and care plans start at £15/month and you can cancel any time; the site is yours either way.
I already have a website. Can you fix it?
Usually the honest answer is that rebuilding on a modern foundation is faster and cheaper than patching an old site — but I'll tell you which after a look, for free. Either way you keep your domain, your content and your Google history.
